How Abilities Work

When a user asks your sidekick something that requires an ability, the sidekick automatically decides which tool to use. You don't need to configure triggers or workflows — the AI understands when to use each ability based on the conversation.

For example, if a user says "Create a blog post about AI trends" and you have Content Catalyst enabled, your sidekick will recognize the intent and use that ability. If the user asks "What's the chance of a rate cut?" and Prediction Markets is enabled, it will pull live market data.

Content Catalyst

Content Catalyst generates two high-quality, research-backed article variations from a single topic or source. It uses a multi-phase pipeline that mirrors a professional editorial workflow:

1. Research — Gathers relevant sources from your knowledge base, the web (via Perplexity), and the conversation context
2. Architecture — Designs the article structure and creates two different angles on the topic
3. Drafting — Writes two full article variations with distinct perspectives
4. Fact-checking — Verifies accuracy and validates sources
5. Polishing — Refines prose, enforces word count, and ensures consistent tone

Accepted Input Types

• Text — Describe a topic, paste notes, or provide a rough outline
• Web URL — Provide a link and the tool will scrape and use it as source material
• Audio (MP3) — Upload a podcast or recording to transcribe and turn into articles

What users will see

When a user asks your sidekick to write an article, the sidekick will process the request through all five phases and deliver two complete article variations. Users can choose the version they prefer or blend elements from both.

Image Catalyst

Image Catalyst lets your sidekick generate images on demand. It supports two modes optimized for different use cases:

When a user asks your sidekick to create an image, a widget opens in the chat where they can choose the mode, refine the prompt, and optionally upload a reference image. The generated image appears directly in the conversation.

Prediction Market Insights

This ability connects your sidekick to Polymarket, the world's largest prediction market. When users ask about the likelihood of future events, your sidekick returns real-time probability data backed by actual trading volume — not speculation.

What users will see

When a user asks something like "What's the probability of a government shutdown?", the sidekick searches Polymarket and returns the top matching markets with their current probabilities, trading volume, and resolution dates. Higher trading volume indicates stronger consensus among traders.

Web Search

Web Search lets your sidekick query the internet in real-time to answer questions about current events, recent data, or anything not covered by your knowledge base. Powered by Perplexity AI, it returns comprehensive answers with source citations.

What users will see

When a user asks a question that requires current information, the sidekick searches the web, synthesizes the results, and presents the answer with inline citations. This is especially useful for questions about recent news, prices, schedules, or anything that changes frequently.

Lingua

Lingua transcribes audio files and translates subtitles into 12+ languages with professional formatting. It's ideal for podcasts, webinars, interviews, and any audio content that needs to reach a multilingual audience.

Output Formats

Users provide an audio file or URL, and the sidekick returns downloadable subtitle files in each requested language, along with the full text transcript and a confidence score.

Asana Task Manager

Connect your sidekick to Asana to manage projects and tasks through natural conversation. Your sidekick can create, update, complete, and list tasks — all hands-free.

What your sidekick can do

• List tasks in a project (filtered by status)
• Create new tasks with due dates and descriptions
• Update or rename existing tasks
• Mark tasks as complete
• Create and manage subtasks
• Assign tasks to team members

Setup

Asana requires an OAuth connection. Go to Abilities, find Asana Task Manager, and click Connect to authorize your Asana workspace. Once connected, configure which project(s) your sidekick should manage.

HelpScout Connect

Connect your sidekick to HelpScout to manage support tickets through conversation. Your sidekick can read, respond to, and manage customer support conversations directly.

What your sidekick can do

• List support tickets (filtered by active, pending, or closed)
• View full ticket details and conversation history
• Reply to customers with messages
• Add internal notes visible only to your team
• Close or reopen tickets
• Assign tickets to specific team members
• Create new support tickets

Setup

HelpScout requires an OAuth connection. Go to Abilities, find HelpScout Connect, and click Connect to authorize your HelpScout account. Configure which mailbox(es) your sidekick should monitor.
